What Worcester Kite Fest About?
“connecting and bringing people together through creativity, storytelling, and celebration of culture.”
Worcester Kite Festival is a celebration of culture with the goal of bringing communities together through the art and traditions of kite flying.
While kites take many forms around the world, they share a common purpose, bringing people together through creativity, storytelling, celebration, and connection.
The Story Behind Worcester Kite Fest
Vanessa Joga from Guardian of Traditions has been dreaming of running a kite festival for more than 2 years. She was inspired by her home country’s love of flying kites everywhere, and she wanted to share that feeling of joy and connection with Worcester. She brought together a small team of community organizers and artists to organize Worcester’s first kite festival, and it truly ended up being a joyful and sweet day of community and culture.
We are so incredibly grateful for the collaborative effort that everyone involved helped with. The day of the festival showcased the creativity of so many amazing people in this city, it was inspiring to see how everyone engaged with both creativity and cultural connection. This festival wouldn’t have been able to become a reality without the help of our amazing community. Thank you to every organization, artist and community partner from across New England and beyond!
